"Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,

nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers;

but his delight is in the law of the Lord,

and on his law he meditates day and night" (Psalm 1:1-2, ESV)

To train disciples of Jesus Christ.

To provide low cost, high quality Christian higher education that is both respected in the Christian community and challenges the believer to grow in their faith.

The Shepherd's Bible Institute (SBI) Overview

The Shepherd's Bible Institute is a ministry of Shepherd of the Hills Church designed to build and equip believers.

·      Small Group Based – classes are based on the small group design.

·      Affordable – classes are worth three (3) credit hours each and cost just $90!  And that INCLUDES your book!

·      Convenient – classes meet once per week, in the evening for about 60-90 minutes.  The rest you do at your convenience.  Students will have 24-hour access to class information and assignments via an online classroom.

·      Relational – The groups are cohort groups, meaning you will begin with a group and progress through the entire program with the same classmates.  This means you will develop relationships with people and connect in a way you never would have otherwise.

·      Equipping – during the program you will learn more about the Bible, theology and other important aspects of faith.

·      Non-Denominational and Inter-church – you do not have to be part of any particular denomination to attend.  In fact, experience shows classes are enhanced when Christians of different denominational backgrounds attend the same class.  It improves discussion and brings perspectives otherwise not considered.  It also means you do not need to be a member of Shepherd of the Hills to attend.

How It Works

•  Students gather weekly for class with their cohort group.  This will be the same group they meet with for the duration of the program.

•  Each week's class will consist of submitting any assignments due, prayer, and group discussion of the week's reading.

•  Although individual weeks may vary, students should expect weekly classes to last between 60 and 90 minutes, not including out of class assignments.

•  Throughout the program students will read through assigned texts and discuss key insights from their reading, both in class and online.

•  Each class is worth 3 Semester Credit Hours that may be transferred to other institutions of higher learning.  Please note the receiving institution determines credit transfer eligibility.
