June 25th Update - COVID-19 Information

Church family,

It’s exciting to finally be back to our regular Sunday schedule! As we return to praise and worship there are some things we will need to do to remain as safe as possible.

In keeping with the CDC guidelines and advice from other health professionals, we are doing the following:

  • The building is cleaned to COVID standards regularly throughout the week and after Sunday.
  • The sanctuary and common areas are cleaned and disinfected following each service
  • Air filtration is active throughout Sunday morning and doors are propped open to allow for constant air flow
  • Hand sanitizer is available throughout the building
  • The building is locked overnight to keep areas clean and secure
  • Masks are available for anyone wanting one
  • Seats have been marked at 6’ increments to allow for social distancing
  • Seating is available in the foyer and parlor for those wanting more space
  • Seating is available outside for those uncomfortable with being indoors
  • Offering is collected through free-standing agape boxes instead of passing plates
  • Communion is served through self-contained, sealed portions instead of open food
  • There are now three services (8:00, 9:30, and 11:00) to allow for smaller groups
  • Services are streamed live at 11:00 for anyone wishing to remain at home
  • We have discontinued hand shaking during service and ask everyone to be aware of others’ concerns when greeting one another

While we have done a lot to make sure our worship services are as safe as possible, we encourage everyone to continue practicing good hygiene and take precautions they feel are needed for their own health and well-being.  Also, remember, no amount of precautions will be perfect and there will always be risk in any activity.

For those who are concerned, at higher risk of infection, have comorbidities, or serve vulnerable people, feel free to stay home and worship online, and return when the time is right. No one will think any less of anyone who is not yet ready to return; it is a personal choice and everyone will have differing levels of concern.

For those in a high-risk category wishing to return to worship, we recommend speaking with your doctor first.

As always, anyone with any questions or concerns may contact the church during our business hours. We will be more than happy to speak with you and answer any questions you may have.
