Thank-you for reading about our newest ministry, Aerial Parishioner Retriever 1.
Here at Shepherd of the Hills Calvary Chapel, we are blessed with a large sprawling building with ample roof space for our expanding ministry. After careful consideration, we believe this unused space is a perfect location for our newest transportation ministry: “Aerial Parishioner Retriever 1 - Helicopter Transport.” This ministry will allow us to transport those with limited mobility to the church. It will also allow us to transport those who tend to drag their feet going to church and may need a little more Jesus.
The roof will establish a perfect landing pad for this church helicopter. Join us Wednesday, April 1st at our Verse-By-Verse service as we dedicate this new ministry in prayer.
As church leaders, we have had multiple discussions on ways to improve fellowship here at Shepherd of the Hills Calvary Chapel. Over the years we have started ministries like our Calvary Cafe, our Fellowship Ministry, small groups, and so forth. We believe these ministries provide opportunities to carry out what the early church did as described in Acts 2:42 where the believers "devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." We gather Sunday morning to hear teaching from the Word of God, our Calvary Cafe provides opportunities to be in fellowship through the breaking of bread, and our Prayer Chapel, Small Group ministry, and Fellowship Ministry all encourage fellowship through prayer. If you have made it to this point in this article, you may have figured out that we are not launching a helicopter ministry (happy April 1st - we just want to see who reads our articles).
One of the areas of the church we know has gone to the wayside over the years is our Church Mailboxes. Over the past month we have determined to revitalize this ministry and upgrade the church mailbox ministry. We have moved all the mailboxes to our main lobby, right behind the Acts 2:42 Verse wall at our main entrance/near Calvary Cafe. These mailboxes have been provided to families in our church fellowship, and we hope will be an encouragement to everyone.

You will notice that each mailbox is assigned a number. If you received giving envelopes to donate through check or cash, your mailbox number will match your giving envelopes. If you were in our 2025-2026 church directory, you were also provided a mailbox. An alphabetized key is posted at the mailboxes that you can use to find your mailbox number and the mailbox of other friends and families here at Shepherd of the Hills. If you were not assigned a mailbox because you either don't have envelopes or were not in the most recent directory update, please feel free to let us know by contacting the church office (note we will be installing additional mailboxes on the wall opposite the current bank of mailboxes in the coat room).
We also know there are those in our fellowship who cannot get to our church on a weekly basis and are part of our "Shut-ins" ministry. Many of these individuals will not have an assigned mailbox, but rather if you would like to send a note to any of these individuals or families, simply drop off items any at our church office (there is a mailbox in the door of the main church office) and we will get these item sent out during the week. There is a list of these individuals posted at the church mailboxes.

In addition to the new mailboxes, we are also providing a variety of greeting cards that you can use to send a quick note to someone in the congregation. These cards are complimentary and free of charge (of course you can always purchase a card from our Dayspring display in our Chronicles Christian Bookstore). There are cards for Birthdays, General Encouragement, Sympathy, and Healing/Get Well.
We encourage everyone to check the mailboxes on a regular basis. We will be putting items on a quarterly basis with different announcements, news, and info in the church mailboxes. If we notice that mail is starting to pile up in your mailbox, we may give you a call to check in. If you feel that you will no longer utilize the mailbox ministry at the church and would like to give up your mailbox number, just let us know.
As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the church office or any staff member.
