Position Summary and Description


Women and Children Ministry Director (WCMD)


The WCMD will serve as a ministry staff member under the supervision of the Senior Pastor.  She will be tasked with carrying out the vision of the Senior Pastor through assigned duties.


Part Time / Salaried (expected to grow to Full Time / Salaried) / Exempt

Part Time hours: 12-15/week (including Sunday – 4 hours)

Full Time hours: 40-45/week (including Sunday – 4 hours)


This position will function out of a church office. It is not a remote or ‘work from home’ position.

Volunteer and paid staff as may be assigned as necessary for the performance of her duties


The WCMD will serve in a senior ministry leadership role.  She will be responsible for developing and overseeing a women’s ministry called “Virtuous Women’s Ministry” (taken from Proverbs 31:10 - “Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies.”)  She will be responsible for developing and leading meetings, events, and other women’s gatherings for the purpose of edifying the women of the church.  She will be responsible for coordinating volunteers and other church leaders for this purpose.

The WCMD will serve as the coordinator for the children’s ministries of the church.  These include children’s church, children’s Sunday school, youth club, children’s care rooms, VBS, and other child-related ministry need that may arise.  It is not the vision for the WCMD to physically ‘do’ all of the ministry but rather coordinate with leaders and volunteers to ensure they have the resources and support needed.  


  • Carry out the vision of the Senior Pastor
  • Work in cooperation with other staff and pastors to accomplish the mission of the church
  • Attend and hold ministry meetings as needed
  • Be involved with special events, coordinating as needed
  • Assist with Sunday morning service operations
  • Develop engaging events for the women of the church
  • Ensure the children’s ministry volunteers are equipped for service
  • Be involved with and coordinate the planning of VBS in the summer
  • Other duties as may be assigned

  • Attend all Sunday services unless on vacation or sick (this is considered a work day).   
  • Married with children (or experience with children), preferred but not required
  • Between 1 and 5 years of similar ministry service
  • A ministry related degree is helpful but not required
  • Able to meet deadlines consistently
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Able to work with and without supervision
  • Able to be a visionary and strategic thinker

A relocation package is not available for this position and preference will be given to local candidates.

WORSHIP TEAM: We are currently looking for anyone interested in serving with our One Voice worship ministry.  Whether you sing, plan an instrument, operate sound equipment, or run projectors, we're looking for you.  Must be able to commit to one Sunday per month.  For more information, please contact Pastor Jon Grove at

SOUND / VIDEO TEAM: We need additional volunteers to run our Video (Projection) and Sound systems during our Sunday morning services. Training will be provided. Please contact Pastor Jon or Pastor Charles if you are interested in either team and your service preference.

JOURNALIST: We are looking for someone to serve as a journalist for our church publication, "The Shepherd's Staff."  If you enjoy writing, photography, or other print publication work, and would like to serve, please contact the church for more information.  Email 

TEE-BALL COACH: We are currently looking for a couple of people to serve as tee-ball coaches for the 2020 season, beginning in April.  The coach should have knowledge of the game, the ability to coach children, and the ability to manage the schedule of the team.  This team will compete in the regular Boyertown Midget Baseball League.  Practices will be held at the church, games will be played on BMBL fields.  The church will provide all equipment and uniforms.  Per PA law, background clearances will be needed.

FELLOWSHIP TEAM: We are currently looking for a few people to service on a fellowship team.  This group will be responsible for organizing and coordinating various fellowship events for the church throughout the year.  These events would consist of things like movie nights, meals, etc.  If you are interested in serving please contact Pastor Collin at 

CONNECT GROUP LEADER:  We are currently looking for people to host in-home small groups.  The person must be (or willing to become) a member of SOTH, be a believer, be able to host a group of between 7 and 10 other people twice per month, and be able to coordinate the group's meetings.  This person ideally will have a spiritual giftedness of a pastor, teacher, administrator, host, or other relevant gift.  If you are interested in serving in this way, please contact Pastor Charles Rowdon at    

CHILDREN'S CHURCH TEACHER: We are currently looking for teachers for our children's church ministry.  This position is great for those who enjoy working with small children and teaching.  You would be placed in a rotating schedule to serve about once per month, or more if available and desired.  Curriculum is provided but you are also welcome to create your own.  If that's you, please contact the church office or email  Background checks must be completed prior to beginning service.
