Under Construction
If you stopped and evaluated your spiritual life up to this point you might realize two things: 1, you are farther along than you used to be, and, 2, you aren’t where you want to be yet. Or maybe, like everyone, you are currently “under construction.” If so, you should know you are in good company.
The apostle Paul wrote, Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on… He goes on to say, forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead. (Phil. 4:12-13) Paul, the human author of most of the New Testament, was also under construction! We all are!!! But not to worry because Paul also says, He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion. (Phil. 1:6)
Every believer alive is at a certain point along the path to perfection. None of us has made it, but all of us eventually will. We are currently “under construction,” you might say. Which means God is still working diligently in your life. But construction can be a messy, chaotic and sometimes inconvenient process. And if you feel that way, again, you are in good company.
