September Women’s Ministry Event:  Sept 18-20th Spruce Lake Woman’s Retreat

We will be meeting at the church on Friday the 18th and carpooling to Spruce Lake in Canadensis PA.

We will be staying in our own Mountainside Lodge again this year. For more information about the retreat, log into sprucelake.org and go to events, scroll down to the women's retreat and check out the speakers, worship, lodging, etc...

All meals are included from Friday evening dinner through Sunday's lunch. Towels, pillows and linens are provided.

The fee is $280.00 - $50.00 (paid by SOTH) =$230.00 per person.

A non-refundable deposit of $115.00 is due when registering for retreat.

I hope we can fill up all of the beds this year again, it was such a blessing and sooo much fun the last couple years. There is something so special about gathering for a retreat as women and daughters of the King! Time to spend with the Lord, in corporate worship, and get away from the everyday routine, to regroup, renew and refresh!

Register as soon as possible on the Kiosk, soth.church or on the App. We need to know how many women want to attend; this will determine the Mountainside Lodge we will reserve! If paying by check, write the check to SOTHCC and put in Agape Boxes with Wm's Retreat written in the memo.

** Please come and see our Women’s Ministry Bulletin Board. It is located in the hallway, across from Pastor Collin’s Office. You will find some photos of our past events and a schedule for this year’s events. The schedule for the Beautifully Bound Book Club is there as well.

When a curious stranger shows up at Chelsea’s door, and with him, an even more curious string of events. Soon, customers are flocking to the Higher Grounds Café. Not just for the cupcakes and cappuccino, but for the internet connection to the divine. The café has become the go to place for answers to life’s biggest questions.

“Delighting in God’s Wisdom, A study on the Book of Proverbs”.

Wisdom. We need it. We want it - but often look for it in all the wrong places. Moment by moment our life circumstances dictate the need for wisdom. From simple everyday choices to the more complex and life changing; we need wisdom for successful decision-making. Where do we find this wisdom? Solomon will tell us in the book of Proverbs that wisdom begins with the fear of God and all wisdom in found in Him. The majority of Proverbs was written by Solomon, “the wisest man on earth. Proverbs is the “how to” for life and will lead you to the heart of God and His wisdom.  Woven into the study are examples from women in the Bible who were both wise and unwise.

The book is available in Chronicles Book Store for $8.00

“What joy for those whose strength comes from the Lord, who have set their minds on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem. When they walk through the Valley of Weeping, it will become a place of refreshing springs. The autumn rains will clothe it with blessings.” Psalms 84:5-6

Where do you need God to refresh you? In what ways do you want your relationship with Jesus to be deeper? What do you want more than anything to hear God say to you? As children of the Most High God, we were made to operate from a place of fullness. Like a car running on fumes, we need to allow God to continually refresh us. We could find new strength, facing each day with peace, a peace this world does not know.

In the New Testament, the word for “refresh” is anapsuxis, which means recovery of breath, and the word for” to be refreshed” is sunanapauomai, which means to lie down. to be refreshed in spirit with. Our Heavenly Father wants to help us recover our breath. He wants to lead our spirits to lie down to rest!

How about the words which are antonyms to refresh: depress, destroy discourage, break, etc…

Do you have any areas in your life that these words describe? These are places we need God’s refreshment. Ask Him today, invite Him into those areas. Pray, right now thank Him for His promise of rest. Thank Him for who He is and for how much He loves you. Where the enemy has brought death and defeat, Jesus brings light and life. Receive whatever our Lord has for you and ask Him to refresh your soul with His peace. Give Him honor, praise and glory. Lift you hearts in worship, feel His presence wrap around you and give you rest.

God Bless,

Renee Miller
