- These two disciples are serving Jesus and that is enough. We do not need the accolades of man; we have the acknowledgment of our heavenly father! We know we should seek to serve God and trust he will provide for our needs.
- God gives people a choice to respond to his calling. The words used by the disciples; “‘The Lord has need of it,” directly translates as “a person exercising absolute ownership rights.” Do you allow the Lord to have absolute ownership of your life?
- Lastly, we need to follow Jesus’ example of humility. Jesus chose a beast of burden, an animal of servitude to make his grand entrance. This was a triumph of humility over pride, of poverty over affluence, and of meekness over rage.
