Introduction:

-       Pride is a deadly virus. The vaccine for pride is humility.

-       Humility isn’t a low view, it’s a right view. Looking at ourselves as God does

I. Jesus humbled Himself Spiritually

-       Everything about Jesus life was in submission to His Father.

-       He kept the Law. He obeyed God’s will.

II. Jesus humbled Himself Intellectually

-       As God the Son, Jesus is omniscient. As the Son of Man, Jesus had to learn.

-       Everyone has something to learn. Everyone has something to teach

III.  Jesus humbled Himself Relationally

-       He humbled himself to his heavenly Father & earthly mother.

-       Culture looks for ways to be exempt.

-       Jesus looked for ways to be obedient.

IV. Jesus humbled Himself Physically

-       The Creator of Heaven and Earth became a human child. Jesus had to grow and develop normally.

-       There is no length to which Jesus won’t go to save a soul. If it’s that important to Him, it should be to us.

V. Jesus humbled Himself Culturally

-       Jesus came from Nazareth – a town with a bad reputation.

-       Don’t feel “less than” because you come from humble roots.

Closing

Anyone can know it all, but only the humble grow at all.
