Introduction:
- Herod the great was politically successful in Judea but socially, he was a tyrannical ruler who eliminated his adversaries when threatened.
- Matthew uses Old testament prophecy to show Jesus was the long-awaited messiah/ king of Israel.

I. God will Lead you
Just as God led the wise men to Bethlehem, and Joseph and Mary to Egypt, he will lead you where he wants you to go.

II. God will Provide for you
When God leads you somewhere, he will also provide for you everything you need to achieve what he is calling you to do.

III.  People will Despise you
- Jesus claimed to be God then supported these claims with miracles. He was a threat to institutionalized religion and he also associated with sinners.
- You will face opposition from non-believers when you pronounce Jesus as Lord.

IV. Persevere through Fear
Even when you are persecuted, or afraid because of opposition, we are called to preserver in service of God.
